What needs to be done to modify a domain
You will fill out the same form except mark a M for modify rather than a N for new. Owner
info should be left blank, be sure to fill in billing and admin contacts normally.

How long should modifying the domain take
Generally just a few days if all goes smoothly. After its filed internic will send a
verification request via email to both the listed admin and technical contacts on the
whois records, as long as one of the contacts acknowledges this email the domain will be
repointed.

What if the internic records have the wrong email address to send the verification for
my modification
You will then need to use the tracking number you received from internic to have your
client fax in authorization, this tracking number can be found on the email you received
from internic saying they received your request. This is the first email they send to you
after your submission. Your client will need to fax them a authorization to modify at
703-742-9552 refrencing the tracking number, a valid id will also need to be copied and
sent with there signature and title if it applies.

What if one of the contacts declines the modification
As long as your the listed owner, you can follow the procedure above and fax the
authoriztion in with a valid id. To expedite this further you may want to place a phone
call to internic at 703-742-4777, in most cases they will process this while your on the
phone with them

What if my client wants time to transfer his files before the modification occurs?
You should file the forms as you normally would and instruct your client not to reply to
the internic verification email until hes ready to have the modification occur.
